Backstage

One show goes on out front....meanwhile a whole other show goes on backstage. 50 costumes, 35 wigs, 30 pairs of shoes and all the bits and bobs to match. Headpieces, chokers, gloves, jewelry, etc. Thank you to all of our dressers, for without you we would never make it back on stage. Some of the changes are 30seconds. It's crazy!
Don't let our calm smiles fool you, we took these really really fast.

The Last Midnight

It was the last midnight of the longest running production show on the Symphony and we have a million pictures to celebrate the end of Million Dollar Musicals. Here are a few select pictures brought to you by the bad internet blues...but what a fabulous night we had! Standing ovations all around. Literally. It's a thrust stage so the audience is all around us. ;)

Where my baby was a baby-Oak Bay, Victoria

Well maybe not a baby baby because he was a baby baby in England... But... I did get the chance to explore Jason's neighborhood where he spent the majority of his childhood. Victoria is similar to  beautiful towns I've visited in the world, where at the end of your vacation you think, people actually LIVE here? It's not built just for vacations? It's too perfect! Well the exact neighborhood he grew up in, Oak Bay is exactly this type of "quaint" and feels like a mini-city in a city. Very much like a small British town, and just steps away from the water.
Houses that look like English cottages. Everyone seems to take a great deal of pride in their homes here.
These two made me think of what Jason and I might look like one day. :)
I hope they didn't think I was paparazzi.
Even the weeds are pretty. Yes, these are the weeds.
More weeds that could belong in botanical gardens.
What time is it? Time to drink coffee!!!
And as always, had a wonderful day with the Campbells. What a treat to have them on board and have them in Victoria to host and be hosted by!

Port of Vancouver

I have very good internet but little time to write, so I will quickly post the pictures from our parking spot in Vancouver. Right by Canada place and just steps away from the heart of Vancouver, I do believe our ship was quite happily situated facing Grouse mountain, flanked by the skyline, and glistening in the sun. Yes, I said SUN!!! In Vancouver!!! So, so stunning.
And I found a super cool coffee place, Giovane Cafe. Of course. Am I obsessed with the magic bean? Yes, yes I am. This one was particularly special because they were all wearing Canucks jerseys in honor of the blessed hockey team that represents this great city. ;)
Pretty coffee ordered by Sally. The coffee code name lives on even in Canada. ;)

Astoria, no not Queens...Oregon!

Oregon! Apparently, it rains here approximately 190 days a year, so I grabbed my umbrella to hit the streets again! Apparently, when it rains 190 days a year they make all of their shops and cafes super cute so you can be quite content indoors. Camilla and I and my iPhone found the best little restaurant TPauls, where we had lunch choosing from the widest array of sandwiches, and quesadillas I have ever seen. We ate, drank, and were merry whilst being surrounded by happy inspiring quotes. Breathe in, breathe out.
Bring it on Pacific Northwest.
Over sized cutlery on a blue piano. Why not?!
You may think what is this Astoria? How far is it away from Astoria Queens? Has Adriana ever been here before?
The answers are as follows:
  • Astoria is a city situated near the mouth of the Columbia River, and named after the American investor (and first millionaire) John Jacob Astor.
  • 2,996 miles.
  • and strangely enough-YES I have been here before! The shuttle picked us up right at the theater I performed in on tour.  The theater is beautiful, but really old, and my iPhone pics make it look even older. Man if I only had the 4G iPhone. ;)
This poster was in the lobby and I couldn't agree with it's exclamation more.
And of course, we couldn't end the day without a good coffee and pastries. You may notice the gap in the bunny sugar cookies. Well that is because one accidentally jumped in my belly.
