Omni Dallas and Backstage at DIFFA

My stay at the Omni Dallas Hotel was beyond expectations!
Everything was perfect including the hospitality and service.

Our suite, perfect for the king himself, Jim DiMarino, Chair of DIFFA Dallas:

The decor in the lobby
Infinity bathroom
Texas Spice was insane. This adorable restaurant right off the lobby defied any sort of diet with it's magnificent farm-to market Texas buffet.  Mmmmm....

Yes. You are looking at four flavors of butter. Banana, Mango, Cinnamon and Strawberry. yummmm...

Thank you Omni for a great stay and hosting DIFFA Dallas 2014!

A few behind the scenes pictures...it is impossible to show the madness that is backstage but here is a glimpse of the gruel it take for glamor! #worthit

A Before and After of my incredible makeup! My MUA was a true artist.

Discovering Dallas

Still catching up from my fabulous trip to Dallas! Besides attending and performing in the gala of the year, I had the opportunity to go to the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Sixth Floor Museum

And eat Pies. That's right I said pies. Pies to die for. No, never have I ever had pies like this, so if you ever happen to be traveling through Dallas never ever EVER pass up this absolutely adorable Pinterest worthy pie shop!
Emporium Pies
The Nasher Sculpture Center was lovely! I may be spoiled in the museum department but the exhibit was that of Picasso inspired sculptor David Bates.

The outdoor gardens were so quaint and peaceful!

And you gotta love a great gift shop!

Observing the location where John F. Kennedy was killed was so moving. I don't think I subscribe to tragedy fascinations, but actually walking up to a building I had seen over and over again growing up was like walking into a movie set...  Except this story was so disturbingly real.

The museum allows one to walk right up to the corner where Oswald fired and it is enclosed in glass as it was 50 years ago. If that is what you believe happened of course...
There are two X's on the street where the shots occurred, the one furthest away being the fatal shot.

I can't imagine what this must have been like for the county, just awful in every way no matter what your political affiliation.

I leave you with some samples of his legacy.

The Secret

I started reading the Secret today! I think it came out in 2006, and people have been Secreting for years after Oprah told us to, but I am FINALLY taking the plunge and already loving every page.

And this. This is another lovely little image of the LEAP we must take! Take it! Go now go forth with good intent and LEAP!

A Unicorn Leaning to Light

Today's post is dedicated to another warrior of light, a unicorn very dear to my heart who had a moment of sparkling in the city of frustration and wonder.

Check out his sweet story about giving away some spring tulips on the express train to Queens HERE

Love you Miles!
