Still catching up from my fabulous trip to Dallas! Besides attending and performing in the gala of the year, I had the opportunity to go to the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Sixth Floor Museum.
And eat Pies. That's right I said pies. Pies to die for. No, never have I ever had pies like this, so if you ever happen to be traveling through Dallas never ever EVER pass up this absolutely adorable Pinterest worthy pie shop!
Emporium Pies
The Nasher Sculpture Center was lovely! I may be spoiled in the museum department but the exhibit was that of Picasso inspired sculptor David
Bates.
The outdoor gardens were so quaint and peaceful!
And you gotta love a great gift shop!
Observing the location where John F. Kennedy was killed was so moving. I don't think I subscribe to tragedy fascinations, but actually walking up to a building I had seen over and over again growing up was like walking into a movie set... Except this story was so disturbingly real.
The museum allows one to walk right up to the corner where Oswald fired and it is enclosed in glass as it was 50 years ago. If that is what you believe happened of course...
There are two X's on the street where the shots occurred, the one furthest away being the fatal shot.
I can't imagine what this must have been like for the county, just awful in every way no matter what your political affiliation.

I leave you with some samples of his legacy.
