A little bit of Spain and a little bit of France

Hundreds of pictures. I mean....hundreds. Barely time to write and even less time to upload pics with bad internet but here is a little blog about a big week.
I went on a guest excursion on Wednesday to Santiago de Compostela. It was one of the most spiritual experiences of my life. I have so many words and thoughts about this day but no time to write...Read more about it here.
Two other little gems were Bilboa Spain and St Jean de Luz France.

Bilboa was a combination of parts of Buenos Aires, and New York’s Upper West Side. The old district blew my mind with it’s cobblestone streets, narrow alleyways and unbelievable charm. I missed my husband a lot that day. It was too romantic to be there without him! Thank goodness I see him in three days and we continue the journey together!
St Jean de Luz France
Stunning beaches (and not just because there were naked people) quaint historic town, fabulous restaurants, another very interesting medieval church, and my first Croque Madame. DEEEEELISH. There was a french duo playing guitar and accordion and singing the most beautiful French music in front of a flower stand that made me feel like I was living in a dream.

Europe. It's Happening.

What a remarkable week. I am having a hard time sailing away from each of these cities as one proves to be more beautiful than the next. Here is just a sampling of the hundreds of pictures I have taken from Malaga, Lisbon, and Bordeaux. I must say the best part about working on a cruise ship is that you go to sleep in one country and wake up in another without having to do any work trying to get there. The bad part is that you never want to leave each country but you have to follow your bed! Europe has already blown my mind.

Malaga, Spain.

Bull fighting arena
Just hangin out on a fort. Literally hangin out.
Palaces everywhere
Ya know....Just a simple church
I like photo shoots in front of pretty palace doors
Had to catch up on the local Malagan news
Lisbon, Portugal.
Tiles are the style in Lisbon
A fortress with a view
This is what all the houses look like...it's like stepping back in time seeing the bright laundry hanging outside
I am an explorer with the explorers
Here you can get a better idea of how big this monument is
The main square was so bright and colorful
This was an art installation where they put post-it's on a billboard. Was it oppression? Expression? Regression? Don't know but it was cool.
Sail away was a combination of Rio and San Fransisco.
St Emillion, France.
Start of our adventure...we made it to the train station!
Then to the beautiful Saint Emilion!
We ate lunch in this square
Petit dejeuner-crepe with pears, vanilla ice cream, almonds and whipped creme. Assortment of cheeses and baguette. Who could ask for anything more?
I belong IN wine country. Like...IN IT.
So happy to have made it to the Chateau Soutard
Don't forget to stop and smell the roses...in chateaus.
Our petite wine tasting!
I heart wine.
Just wildflowers everywhere...
Bordeaux, France.
Macaroons are the thing to eat here
Little Red and the two princes on the steps of the palace
Yes, these are all made of chocolate
Happy. Very very happy.
